How Churches Can Get Involved
Below are some of the ways you can begin to make a difference in and through your church to advance the Scriptural ministry of adoption. Get creative! Embraced by Grace, Inc. is committed to the priority annd authority of the local church. We would love to brainstorm some ideas with you about how you can promote adoption in your church.
Embrace the biblical mandate to visit the orphans (James 1:27) and defend the lives of the unborn (Psalm 139:13)
Pray
- Put the needs of orphans and foster children on church prayer lists
- Intercede for birthmothers to choose life for their babies
- Pray with and for adopting families in your church
- Pray about what your church should be doing to “visit the orphans in their affliction”
Promote a culture of adoption among your people
- Educate your congregation on the facts about adoption and orphan/foster care
- Preach on the doctrine of adoption (Galatians 4:4-7)
- Celebrate adoptions publicly in your services
- Encourage families to become “wrap-around” families to support and encourage adopting families in your church
- Create an adoption ministry along with a scholarship fund to assist families with the cost of adoption
Partner with Embraced by Grace, Inc.
- Allow us to make a brief presentation to your congregation about the need and opportunity for Christians to adopt
- Utilize resources available from Embraced by Grace: bulletin inserts, study guides and/or seminars on adoption, family, stewardship
- Support Embraced by Grace, Inc. financially through your missions or mercy ministries
- Host or attend an adoption awareness seminar
