“I am proud to share my testimony and prove that there is a God and that He has a plan for each one of us. George and I became pregnant at a very young age.  Through some difficult life circumstances, we found ourselves, and our 6 kids, living in George’s parent’s attic. In May 2010 I found myself unexpectedly pregnant.

George and I were at a loss, we didn’t know what to do. We were barely getting by as it was and we didn’t have the means to raise any more children. Out of our fear and desperation, we considered aborting the pregnancy. We visited an abortion clinic to have an ultrasound done to see if I would be able to have an abortion. The doctor who helped us explained our options and what would be involved. We were horrified when we heard what happens to a baby during an abortion and we decided then and there to trust God with the life of our unborn child and choose adoption for the life of our baby. When I told my mother about our plans for adoption, she told me that our church was involved with an adoption agency called Embraced by Grace. We called them the next day and spoke to a wonderful lady named Patti.  Patti comforted me and told me that we were doing a wonderful thing by choosing adoption. I still thank God every day for Patti’s words of encouragement. She walked me through every step of the adoption process and told me that Embraced by Grace finds godly, Christian homes for children. Cathy Fish, Embraced by Grace’s birthmother liaison, came over to see us one day to show us 3 profiles for potential adoptive families. I saw David and Kara’s profile and I knew right away that they were the ones. When George saw it, I knew that George felt it too. Cathy set up the first meeting with David and Kara right before my first sonogram.  That meeting confirmed that they were the right couple for our baby. But, I will never forget what happened during the sonogram. It showed us our little boy, and then it showed us his twin sister. It was already hard for us preparing our hearts for one adoption, but now it was going to be two. George and I really struggled through it. George and I are good parents, but we knew God had called us to bless another couple. Little did we know that earlier that year people had been praying for David and Kara to be blessed by adopting twins. They had been praying for a boy and a girl. On January 14th of last year I gave birth to Eason Jeremiah and Ella Grace. I remember that special moment when I had the honor of handing my son to Kara and telling her “See Kara, I told you I wouldn’t let you down.” It is a great honor for me to share this story. It proves to me every day what it says in Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord. Thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

We are proud of our choice to create an adoption plan for our twins, and we are grateful to Embraced by Grace for being there and for being a blessing to us every step of the way.”
